Stacking Test
Scope This test method covers evaluation of the compression resistance or the capabilities of protecting the loaded objects of the transport packages and unit loads during stacking.
Reference GB 4857.3, GB 1019
Test Procedure
  • Place the test specimen on a horizontal plane in a predetermined state stated in WATER-GDC-T005.
  • The test specimen shall be applied with a pressure after full pre-loading so as to ensure that the loading plate fully contacts the test specimen. The load formula of the pressure stacking test is as follows:
  • Stacking Test

    F = Force (Load) in kg
    K = Detoriation coefficient in the period of circulation. (K = 1.5)
    P = Mass of package in kg
    H = Maximum height of stacking allowed in warehouse in meters (H = 3000mm)
    h = Height of package in mm.

  • The load shall be kept for a predetermined duration (usually 48h, depending on the situations of the material) or until the package is pressed to be damaged.
  • Remove the load and check the test specimen.
  • Stacking Test
Evaluation After undergoing the stacking test, the packages may not be deformed and have pressure marks and the packages after the damp heat test, the difference between the height of the packages after testing and that before testing shall be smaller than 1.2cm/m.
Level of Acceptance / success Criteria There should not be any permanent deformations or cracks on test specimens and the packaging should not have considerable damage. The packages may not be deformed and have pressure marks.
At the end of the test, there should not any cracking observed after the Test.
All test specimens should pass the test.
